In it's first major competitive event, two of Jon Whyte's innovative
PRST-1 full suspension bikes were ridden to a notable victory by Trailquest Champions,
Aien Leheup and Alan Sheldon
The 2000 Summer Polaris, held over the weekend of 8th and 9th of July, was the biggest
ever, with over 1300 competitors taking part. The venue, Kildale, which is on the
N.W. tip of the Yorkshire Moors provided an mixture of extreme terrain and challenging
surfaces, made all the more difficult as a result of heavy rain over the course of
the event.
Leheup and Sheldon were full of praise for the PRST-1's. "We only received the
bikes on Friday night so had to ride them as they came out of the box! The PLUS FOURS
were a revelation. The tracking is superb, better than any telescopic fork on the
market. The front end is very forgiving and lets you ride harder and faster and get
away with it. Rear and lateral stiffness is simply the best I have ever experienced
on any full suspension bike. The bike is also fantastically light and responsive,
a joy to ride. It is the future! We have been riding tomorrow's technology today!
