Description: From Antigua, with its colonial architecture and backdrop of smoky volcanoes, we follow old trade routes around Lake Atitlan and pass Indian villages whose ancestors built the huge ancient temple cities evident across Central America. The route then descends through lush forests to the tropical paradise of the Rio Dulce with its relaxing thermal pools and waterfalls. Exotic birds, monkeys and jaguars populate the area.
