'STILL GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR 6-7 MONTHS LATER!'
Strengths: top quality singletrack and backcountry riding! Amazing chalet, friendly guides, fantastic scenery and no waiting for lifts! French women.. :-)
excellent value. 3 meals a day and wine...
Weaknesses: me, lack of balls, crap inner tubes, crap tyres er sunstroke and being ginger
none
Overall: blown away from our experience with trailaddiction and booked again for this year. Can't reccomend it enough really.. loads of pics on my site at www.andy-matthews.co.uk
Strengths: The trails are outstanding and plentiful, backed up by the guides' "back of hand" knowledge of the local area.
The chalet, chalet hosts and food are also exceptional...
Weaknesses: None other than I wouldn't recommend the area for absolute beginners
Overall: An outstanding value week of supreme alpine MTBing!
These guys have really done their homework... the Les Arcs area is a real gem with its hundreds of miles of "to die for" singletrack all serviced by lifts!
'A BEAUTIFUL, RELAXING LOCATION WITH GREAT NATURAL TERRAIN'
Strengths: Loads of uncrowded and varied "natural" trails and a little manmade DH stuff too. Loads of lift access/road shuttle options. Beautiful chalet in a great location. Guides who really know the area and can take you to the best riding. Great food, great bar down the road.
Weaknesses: Not ideal if you just want pure Portes-du-soleil DH-racecourse style stuff (though there is one race-style run from the lifts and will presumably be more next season).
Overall: The is was the first guided bike holiday I've been on so I'm comparing these guys to previous DIY trips to Luchon (French Pyrenees), Morzine/Les Gets/Chatel etc. and the riding around Vancouver and Vancouver Island... which is where I now live. To me the TrailAddiction riding has the best combination of the Luchon-style (natural singletrack) and Morzine-style (DH) trails and made for a great all-round trip. I took my DH bike which was a blast, but I could imagine having a great time there on my hardtail or any other bike too. It's a great location and a real alternative to Morzine etc. if you want something more relaxed and uncrowded with a huge variety of riding.
Strengths: Really amazing location, no queues, empty trails, really nice singletrack, great chalet with beautiful food. Had a really great week.
Weaknesses: none
Overall: I'd recommend it to anyone - if you're thinking of anywhere else - go with trail addiction, they'll tailor the holiday to your requests and all at a really reasonable price too. What more can i say ;o)
