Strengths: New lockable bite valve that doesn't drip, light weight, stays put and enough space for essential kit.
Weaknesses: The pump port which WILL NOT accomadate even the smallest mini-pump (but dont worry you can bodge a Topeak mini master blaster to fit by unscrewing the rubber bung at the end of the grip. You can then remove the grip, and hey presto your pump will fit without ripping your Rouge)
Overall: Top piece of kit with enough water for a three hour summer ride. Storeage is a bit limited but you can always use a saddle pack for longer days out. Top Tip, after every ride, empty the bladder, roll it up and pop it in the freezer. Mine's as clean as the day I bought it and I haven't had to clean it out once.
Strengths: Its a camelback...so bladder system very good, no taste and tap usefull.
Weaknesses: "pump port" a joke way too small as in previous review. Black plastic lever on rear of bladder holder very fiddly to engage with bladder. The hole in the shouler strap for the drinking tube iss too small, which makes trying to get the bite valve and tap through very difficult.
Overall: I would go for some of the slightly larger models which seem much less fiddly to use.
Strengths: Good size reservoir, water is insulated quite well from the heat of your back/the sun, stays securely in place on your back
Weaknesses: Tasted weird for the first few uses, pump holder is useless, storage pockets pretty small
Overall: Really good product, it has it's flaws as mentioned above but works well. The strange silicon taste from new went after I used it to drink beer from, now all the water tastes like the air in a beer cellar, mmmmmm! You will never fit a pump in the holder, it is seriously only big enough to hold a medium sized pen. The pockets are only big enough to hold real essentials- spare tube, multi tool and wallet at the most. The problem of the guy above saying the hole in the shoulder strap was too small can be overcome by removing the rubber nipple from the bite valve before feeding it through.
Strengths: Comfortable, neat, sized and contoured perfectly for off-roading, 2L capacity a minimum for serious summer jaunts. Handy pockets. Holds enough (nutrition bars, tools, phone, spare tube, rain jacket and map all accomodated. Pump carrier neat and more useable than reviews above would have you believe. Its NOT that small, just a little short. No problems whatsoever getting the valve and tube through the hole on the top of the pack and easy to refill quickly.
Weaknesses: Why doesn't the top cover have any zipped storage space, seems a waste really. A bit pricey for what it is but then its a Camelback so you pays your money and takes your choice. Besides that, nothing wrong here at all.
Overall: Functional, reliable and well proportioned. A bit pricey but should last.
Strengths: Good size for 2-4 hr rides. Easy to remove and re-insert the bladder. Enough storage for a muti-tool, puncture repair kit, couple of energy bars and a spare tube.
Weaknesses: Overpriced like most Camelbaks. No Bungee-type storage. Hip-belt would be nice.
Overall: Upgraded from a Hydrobak to the Rogue and haven't regretted it. Practical enough for a few hours riding, but you'll have to travel fairly light! Lack of overfill storage for say, waterproofs limits what you can carry sometimes. Also, i find that whilst jumping the pack can jump up your back due to lack of hip belt. Overall though, a very good pack!
