Strengths: Very comfortable in one size over your own foot size, whilst wearing sealskinz and liner sock. Warm and dry so far this winter.Better supply from ordering than Northwave Celcius boot, only three days not six weeks! Excellant calf straining climbing ability with studs fitted.
Weaknesses: None so far.I will update as the weather gets worse over the winter.
Overall: LBS supplied these within three days as I was let down by Fisher rep stating that the Northwave boot was available when it was'nt.I also got them cheaper via LBS than the internet. These winter boots are the DOG's NUTS, worth the money already
Strengths: When new warm, reasonably water resistant and good grip.
Weaknesses: The shoe is very fiddly to put on and take off requiring zips to tighten the top, and they get more fiddly the more muddy they get. The shoes are not durable and this fiddly zip tightener is the first thing to suffer when mud and grit gets on the shoe.
Overall: The shoe is more attractive than the Shimano equivalent but the zip method of tightening the top of the shoe to prevent water ingress is not as durable or effective as the Shimano boot.
Strengths: Nice looking boot, like the studs, warm and comfortable.
Weaknesses: Zips are fiddley, and the zip on the right boot broke half way round their first outing, no biggies as the velcro straps were fine to finish the ride and my lbs is swapping for a new pair.
Overall: Nice looking boot, but I do feel as tho they are more a case of all show, no go. I dont see them lasting the kind of abuse my Answer XC1s have taken over the last 4 years, and, to be fair, think in hindsight that they may be a bit overpriced. Better priced at 80quid Id say.
Weaknesses: the little velcro tab a top of the shoe does not stay connected, at all. the zip is fiddly and stiff, oiled it and its better, but a lace or pullcord would be better. very narrow, bought 45 (instead of 43), length is fine but they are still narrow.
Overall: they keep my feet warm, and thats good, but i'm a bit disapointed to have bought some boots that don't fasten properly. its a design fault.
i wear sealskinz, and a light sock under them. and they are plenty toasty.
they keep your feet warm, but i'm slightly concerned about longevity, as i can't see the zip lasting long, and the velcro tab don't work at all.
Weaknesses: Within 1 week the right zip puller snapped off. Second one followed 6 weeks later - both replaced with metal rings (which do a much better job anyway) Lasted another 8 weeks and then the right zip split, had to rip the puller off. Gave up with them at this point. Sizing is abysmal.
Overall: The zips are just completely useless - I kept them clean(ish) and yet they lasted only 4 months... not good for near £100.
The zip clogs at the first sign of mud, and whilst you can clean them and sort this out without the shoes on, if it jams the zip when the shoes are on the only way to remove the things is brute force.
I can't see any point sending them back for replacement as I would have no confidence in the things and would hence never use them. I am off to look at something else, and won't be buying Diadora again.
