Strengths: Sealed cable run with oiling points. Look great. Shifting is almost effotless. Light weight. Flex well
Weaknesses: Cost, however you can see what you are paying for. Take ages to setup
Overall: These are the best gear cables I've ever used. Shifting is so much easier now. Easy to maintain with the oiling points, however they take a while to setup. Cost is high, but you get what you pay for.
Strengths: Shifting is consistently excellent. There is almost no ingress of dirt possible and no possibility of the casing hardening so that tight corners have no harmfull effects.
Weaknesses: Cost
Overall: An astonishing cable system. I was desperate as my Marin cable routing has given me trouble for years. This Beaded system with a glassfibre reinforced kevlar lining is simply the full suspension compared to hardtail version of the cable world. It is about time a 21st century system of cabling was invented instead of using a system designed over 100 years ago for road bikes. These cables are very expensive but in 15 months I have never had to lube or touched them. By this time most serious mountain bikers will be lifting their chins off of the ground.
Strengths: As noted before shifting is much improved. The gears now shift silky smooth. A side effect is the look bery bling.
Weaknesses: Cost and diabolical instructions.Managed to figure out how to fit them after a few google searches.
Overall: A good upgrade - a better bet than buying new shifters say. XT shifters with nokon cables would be a superior system so looked at that way not bad value.
