'BARGAIN BEGINER'
Strengths:
Easy Adjustment, Cheap enough to get used to SPDs without shelling out money, easily maintained, easily cleaned.
Weaknesses:
Prone to a little rust, clean your cleats regularly or it'll hamper access into SPD
Overall:
Brilliant, gonna wait till these die then buy next set!

'GOOD BANG FOR THE BUCK'
Strengths:
Price point
Weaknesses:
A bit prone to mudding up
Overall:
Great as a 'value for money' pair of pedals. They've been used on various of my bikes and work well. I even have used them with snap-in reflectors on my tourer which is a plus.

'OK INTRO PEDALS'
Strengths:
easy to use
Weaknesses:
need to get your cleats set exactly right
Overall:
fine cheap pedal. I found that you have to ensure you get your cleats 100% exact or they don't feel right and give a slight annoyance

'HIGH-END CLIP SYSTEM WITH LOW END AXLE'
Strengths:
Same platform as those higher up the Shimano SPD pedal series; easy to clip in/out, good mud-shedding capabilites; reasonably light
Weaknesses:
The axle assembly/bearings are the same as those I have on a set of 2000 XT SPDs...comparing them to those higher up the range they aren't as good - not as smooth spinning, but at this price you can't complain too much
Overall:
Quite happy with these pedals, they sit on my CX bike and they do the job...they don't look much different to the higher end pedals and they seem to work the same way in terms of clipping in/out and turning the cranks.

'"GOOD ENTRY LEVEL SPD"'
Strengths:
Well constructed as you would expect from Shimano. Easily adjustable. Reasonably priced.
Weaknesses:
None that I have discovered.
Overall:
Very happy with these pedals,as these are my first pair of SPD's ever, and even better they were a present. Great pair to start out with and easy to adjust to your preffered resistance for entry and exit. I still have mine on the lowest(easiest) setting as I prefer it that way, and as yet I have only had 2 offs - plenty of time for more.
