Strengths: No flex, goes where pointed, always in touch with the ground, tremendous feedback Maintenance is so easy, well within the skills of the average rider. A 5mm allen key is all you need.
Weaknesses: A little harsh on rough roads, slight gyroscopic turn in, although one soon gets use to it.
Overall: At my tender age (63) I need all the innovations I can get to perform against the youngsters. I have watched the development of the Sub and spoken with people I respect like Dave Froy who spoke highly of it. I had it fitted a week before the Merrida 100 in Selkirk and had little off road time, hence my comment above regarding road surfaces. However once on the rough stuff and there was plenty of it in Selkirk it was a whole new experience. I have never felt so confident about pointing the front wheel. My previous forks were RS Team and I rate the sub about 3 points above them. The front wheel always relayed feedback and kept on the ground where it was needed. Little if none air time. I had the wrong tyres, (skinny 1.85 Tubeless) but even so the forks performed admirably. Problem is now what to do with my RS team forks. I suppose e bay is the answer.
