Strengths: The ST2's main strength is exactly that, strength. It has a CroMoly frame that is very well put together. Unlike many trailers in this price bracket it has a full wrap around frame which protects the wheels when trying to negotiate kissing gates etc. this also allows the wheels to be monted on both sides of the hub using standard QR skewers. A much stronger set up than most to my mind. The track of the wheels is also wider than most and makes for a very stable trailer. It also has 20" wheels instead of the 16" usually found in this price bracket. This make for a nice rolling trailer and makes it much easier to pull up over kerbs etc. Spares and accessories are readily available and good for price; spare mounting bracket £6.50, full rain cover £6.99 (although the trailer itself is very weatherproof). It has a good load capacity up to 100 lbs. The harnesses can be adjusted for centre seating for a single child, many can't. Folding down the seat back to make a very useful cargo trailer takes seconds. Unlike the Spokey Joe and Phillips/Raleigh trailers the storage is enclosed and includes two small pockets in the passenger area, a very large net pocket on the seat back and enough storage behind the seat for a few essentials for the kids and a good packed lunch. It folds really easily and because it folds in sections rather than like a pram hood, the sides are rigid and have lovely large clear side windows rather than the creased flimsy windows seen on many trailers at this price. It also looks good and much more expensive than it is and it is cheap. I bought mine with a spare mounting bracket for my wifes bike and the rain covers for £112 inclusive of p+p.
Weaknesses: It would be better with a little more head room ( a common problem with child trailers including much more expensive models). The manual states that it it suitable for two children up to approx. 6 years old. Seating wise this would not be a problem but I think headroom probably would be. My daughter is nearly 4 and her head only just clears the top when she has her helmet on (she is tall for her age though and has a long back). A helmet recess in the seat back would be nice, but again you would only really expect to see this feature on much more expensive trailers. Weight. This trailer, because of its steel frame, is a couple of kilos heavier than most other trailers. If this is a problem is really a matter of opinion. Those couple of extra kilos make it much more stable to tow when it is empty and when you've got it loaded with a couple of kids and some other bits and pieces are you really going to notice the extra weight? Personally I'd rather have that little bit of extra weight, you don't notice it, and it means you get a well built, strong, safe trailer for your child/ren.
Overall: An Excellent well built trailer which tows really well whether loaded or not. It is a lovely environment for your chil/ren with large clear windows. The best recommendation of all? My daughter loves it! You will not buy better for this money IMHO.
