'GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!'
Strengths:
The trails are something special, the area is first rate and the guides are the best I've met.
Weaknesses:
Jim kept pointing out stuff we wouldn't get a chance to ride...
Overall:
I'm going back! That's all that needs said

'OH MY GOD! WHAT AN AMAZING SET OF TRAILS'
Strengths:
I've never been to anywhere with such a mix of trails. Jim and John choose the perfect trails for you each day and don't care about leaving you at the bottom of the hill while thay get the van!
Weaknesses:
Lungs and legs (mine not Jim's!) and it took me a day or two to get used to the dry, dustyness of the trails even though it was December.
Overall:
I'm already looking at flights.
The riding was something else - El Moab was everything I'd heard about but the other big trails were equally brill. Get John and Jim to take you to Caserboneler where the 1000 Switchbacks and Roman Road routes are - they'll break you or leave you with the same huge grin I had!

'BREATHTAKING BIKING'
Strengths:
Brilliant trails, great scenery and a fantastic base location.
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
I had a great weeks biking with SeasonallyUNadjusted. The trails were fantastic and really helped push my ability, Jims advice was subtle and helped me to develop my riding. Alora and the El Azul guest house was really welcoming. Highlight was running most of the best trails in one week and going down El Moab twice.

'BRILLIANT TRAILS. FANTASTIC AREA. GREAT GUIDES'
Strengths:
Great guiding with ust the right (light) touch for our group. Superb
routes combining technical up and down hills, singletrack switchbacks
descending high sierra scrub, ancient mule tracks through pine forest, empty dual track. Accomodation and Alora v welcoming. Top food and beers.
Weaknesses:
None.
Overall:
Lived up to the hype from all the guys who made it last year and more. El Moabo was extra special for me - bring on the slick rock!.

'SUPERB FUN PERFECTLY TAILORED HOLIDAY'
Strengths:
Guides, location / trails, hire bikes.
Weaknesses:
None
Overall:
A huge success due to Jim Debanks (seasonally unadjusted founder) commitment to our holiday.
We were a party of 5 mainly 40 yr old dads away for long weekend.
Jim organised accomodation which he now subcontracts to a very friendly English couple,
the pickup from the Airport & our hire bikes (all great quality).
The days were tailored to our ability and his 2nd in command John joined us for all our days, we never had more than 4 riders to guide ratio.
The rides were far beyound our expectations of singletrack and challenged us all.
Jim ensured the days were successes with transport to gain altitude and quality restaurants.
It was the by far the best 4 days MTb'ing any of us had!

'EXCELLENT GUIDE, GREAT TERRAIN, SUPERB TRAILS.'
Strengths:
Short journey from airport - only about 40mins. Large variety of trails. Excelent local knowlege about the area from someone who has taken the trouble to find out about local traditions, farming, wildlife and can keep your interest whilst riding uphill.
Weaknesses:
None.
Overall:
An excellent area for mountainbiking with a guide that really takes an interest in you and your abilities.

'FANTASTIC'
Strengths:
Just about everything...

Jim and Heather take really good care of you, and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

The location is great - get a cheap flight to Malaga and they'll pick you up from the airport. Alora is about half an hour away from Malaga and, thankfully, a world away from the Costa Del Sol.

Sunshine. I've just got back from a week in November and have had clear blue skies all week.

The riding is of course the main focus of the holiday and doesn't disappoint - Jim has plenty of routes seemingly covering every type of MTBing that's out there, and if you happen to like descending rather more than climbing you can get a lift to the top of the hills and he'll ride up later and collect the van.

The people in the Alora area seem to be really friendly, the town is not in the slightest bit touristy. There's a hand full of bars and restaurants ( I can highly recommend Casa de Abilio for food ). If you are looking for a place to party this isn't it. Not that you'll have the energy to party after a hard days riding.
Weaknesses:
I had to come back at the end of the week.

Overall:
I haven't tried any other riding holidays in Spain, but after this week, I don't feel the need to. I'm looking forward to another week over there sometime next year.

'FANTASTIC WAY TO EXPLORE ANDULUCIA'
Strengths:
- Quick and reliable communication via email before we left UK.
- Good instructions on where to meet up for our day-only-trips
- Good local knowledge of fauna etc. Stopping to eat wild figs etc.
- Nice easy going manner
- Great local knowledge of routes
Weaknesses:
Gorse!
Overall:
This was our first time with our mtb bikes abroad so didn't really know what to expect. EasyJet was no problem at all.

We had only planned two day trips with Jim and these worked out great with good instructions where to meet up.

The weather was great with Sun the full week in mid-Nov.

Jim already had week-long clients and had the usual issues of having to meet the needs of a mixed ability group which he managed great.

The riding was exactly what we wanted through beautiful countryside mixing in singletrack with doubletrack and roads where necessary in lovely sunshine - although it was slightly cold in the shade sometimes.

On trips like this you are paying for local knowledge of routes and how to join them up. We had tried a couple of wee cycles ourselves to acclimatize after a cold and wet Scotland and didn't get far before hitting no entry signs - just as we expected from walking trips in other warm climes.

Having spent more time at Glentress recently the cycling here reminded me of a different age. Centres like GT with their new no-braking airtime routes built by the (wonderful) trial fairies are evolving mountain biking into a more resort skiing type thing which is great fun.

Cycling in Andulucia was much more like mountain biking of old just getting out in the hills exploring the many hundreds of trials. This doesn't mean it's boring though. There was plenty of technical downhills with narrow switchbacks, slab sections and some scary rock-strewn routes. Lots of double track to burn up and down too. You have to look for the opportunity for some airtime though.

I can see all this changing though. You can't help cycling here without wondering what the GT trial fairies could make of Andulucia!!! The tourist folk will wake up sooner or later and build some fantastic mountain bike centres there too and we would have the best of both worlds.

In summary we had superb rides in beautiful weather and scenery with a great guide.
