Description: We offer 2 holidays, firstly, the Classic Chalet holiday. Based in our Chalet in Chamonix, we offer a week of guided rides on our favourite trails. Best singletrack, epic climbs and even better descents.
We also offer the world renown 3 Countries Tour. A high altitude loop around the Mont-Blanc. 5 days of the toughest but most rewarding riding there is. Described in mags as the "ultimate alpine loop"

Strengths: Experience... Quite simply the guys at MBMB know more trails than anyone in the Chamonix Valley... and they are still finding epic new ones.
Weaknesses: I'm thinking, but nothing springs to mind, so I can't have many gripes.
Overall: I have been bikinig in the Alps on and off for over ten years, I have been with MBMB a lot of those times, The Chalet based holidyas they offer are just great... Very relaxed atmosphere, superb food and, what we all go for, fantastic biking - Singletrack heaven. Saving the best tothe end, I also did MBMB's Three Countries Tour - A biking epic looping France-Switz-Italy-France around the massif du Mont Blanc. This 5 day trip was absolutely stunning, a true adventure to be had only a couple of hours from Luton Airport.
Strengths: Fantastic riding the best I've done. Great guides, who knew what we wanted before we did and they delivered...thats why we're going back!
Weaknesses: None.
Overall: If you want to try Alpine riding this is the place to start and finish and MBMB are the people to be with. My mates are doing the Three Countries Tour 2005 and we can't wait.
Strengths: If you are in to biking off-road and big mountains then I cannot imagine a better week than I had with MBMB. The guides there have been riding the trails around Mont Blanc for over a decade which means the very best is handed to you on a plate. This leaves you to put absolutely everything into enjoying the immense thrill of riding on immense mountains. I'll never forget one downhill into Les Houches that descended the height of Ben Nevis in one go that took in wooded singletrack, off-the-back-of-the-saddle rocks and high speed fire road. At the end of it the only downside was the sense that my brain was not going to manage to store the experience in all its glory. That downhill can be countered by the climb I remember as Le Planet (?) which was so fearsome I'm sure my heart burst through my ribcage. The only way up is to take it switchback by switchback, as you reach one you dare yourself to go for the next. At the top as you stare down through the trees to the valley far below your packed lunch becomes one of the best you've had.
Weaknesses: The only problem is that you won't fit all the great rides into one week. Mind you, that's a good excuse to go back.
Strengths: The area has some great rides with amazing variety and you get the most out of them with an MBMB guide rather than trying to find them yourselves. Chamonix itself is a fun town to stay in with a cosmopolitan mix of nationalities. If money's an issue and it's a choice between a new ultra light widget for your bike or a holiday in Chamonix, book your Easyjet flights and start packing your bike - riding is what it's all about!
Weaknesses: Not a lot, but the chalet is relatively simple. It's great value for money though so I'm being a bit unfair.
Overall: I would make a lot of effort to go back (and have done a couple of times now) and would urge others to go and enjoy the tracks, the scenery, the guiding etc etc. Send them an email and book a great holiday!!
Strengths: Too many to mention-great trails-amayzingly clear air (great when you're 'honking' up a 2,000 metre climb!) The guides out there just seem to know every good trail (especially all the 'interesting & gnarly' bits)
Oh yes & the food's good as well!
Chamonix's a really cool town-it's just created around outdoor sports & the people that hang out there are snowboarders, mountain bikers & paragliders to name but a few pastimes.
Weaknesses: Once I only got one portion of desert in the evening!
Overall: A great oranisation who I've been using for 7 years-yes you can go out with other carriers but they just don't know the trails like MBMB-that's the main key to their success really-they know all the good stuff to be out riding on!
Strengths: Guides making sure every member of the group enjoys the trip no matter what their ability.Laid back yet enthusiastic guides.Fantastic location.Delicious home cooked food(no chips!!!)
Weaknesses: None that i've found(i've done the chalet holiday 3 times and the 3 countries once)
Overall: Great value for money.Rides that offer a real challenge(if thats what you want).A great location(sunsets in the valley!).
Strengths: Riding - it's the best riding I've done in the Europe. Good food - portions are fine. 1hr from Geneva. Choice of bars and clubs, with great 'views' from outside the Pub.
Weaknesses: The Garage nightclub isn't as seedy as it use to be...
Overall: I've been with MBMB 3 times and I'm going back this summer.
The riding really is the best - it's either fast & tight singlestrack or slow & technical singletrack. You soon get used to having the saddle on your chest. The descent from Le Tour is just awesome, as is Les Houches.
Chamonix's a nice town to hang out in- it's proper town, rather than a ski resort - so lots of shops, resturants bars and clubs. Going up the Aiguille du Midi is one of those once-in-a-lifetime things that should be done every year.
'"THE" BEST HOLS I HAVE EVER BEEN ON - CANT WAIT TO GO AGAIN'
Strengths: what a smooth operation from start to finish. Excellant and professional staff who know their jobs and perform them well.Fantastic new brochure...quality. Fantastic food and plenty of it. Just the sort of food you need after a days ride, proper meals. The rides dont start till 10.30....and finish about 5pm. I felt this was a real bonus as riding too early doesnt sit well with the wine and beer from the night before!
Weaknesses: nothing really, maybe the website could be a bit more updated...people that havent been before maybe want to see where they are going to be staying and scenery they are going to be exploring.
Overall: I travelled on my own with MBMB , and was worried being female that it would be all groups of blokes. However the UK office were great and made sure the week I plumped for had a mix of people. The riding was amazing, and the guides definitly know their stuff. They explain each bit before you tackle it as they have ridden them so many times they know the best and most exhilerating ways down and up! I felt really chilled by the end of the week and really didnt want to return home (maybe that was because I had struck up a friendship with a certain guide!)
'GOOD RIDING IN SOME PRETTY AWFUL WEATHER (3 COUNTRIES)'
Strengths: A good route with some great singletrack & minimal pushing/carrying. Decent (if basic) hotels with mostly great food.
Weaknesses: Having just one guide & around a dozen riders of vastly different skills level necessitated stopping every 10 minutes or so on occasions, this coupled with the very cold & wet conditions led to some of the faster/fitter guys suffering with the cold & getting a bit frustrated at not being able to ‘get on a bit’. Two guides & splitting the group would have been better for all concerned on most days. One of the hotels we stopped at did not supply us with any towels & as most of us hadn’t brought one (we were told we wouldn’t need one), it didn’t go down too well after a hard day in the saddle. I wasn’t too happy about just leaving my bike outside in front of one of the hotels all night - so take a good lock if you go.
Overall: I did enjoy this holiday – even if the weather did resemble winter in the Peak district – I would certainly do it again & recommend it to others but I’d try to get in with a smaller group next time.
