'EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATION, WEATHER AND HOSTS. VARIED TRAILS'
Strengths: Excellent accommodation clean and roomy. Superb variety of trails to suit all levels. Guides were helpful and friendly. Good trail food supplied on each ride, different each day. Granada is just a 1 euro bus ride away.
'FANTASTIC RIDING, WEATHER, ACCOM WITH FRIENDLY HOSTS'
Strengths: variety of trails.- killer climbs, former world champ xc trail, v. techy switchback descents, fast flowing decents thru forests, even some urban riding around granada and the alhambra. perfect weather in october. good accom, bike storage and access to shaun's tools and expertise. he also has some basic parts for sale at what cant be much more than cost price. Great sandwiches provided at lunchtime! Shaun and Chilla are extremely welcoming, down to earth and friendly. i felt like i was staying with friends, not on an organised trip. v. cheap supermarket next door. with self catering facilities, you could cook and eat for next to nothing if you wanted to. there are also reasonably priced restaurants in the village. half hour transfer from granada airport
Weaknesses: none really.
restaurant opening hours can be a bit hit and miss, but this is probably true for all of spain
Overall: great value holiday that ticks all the boxes. xc mainly with a bit of 'all mountain' whatever that means. i would recommend knee elbow pads as the downs are fast and rocky, plus they help against the damn thorns! how ever, some of our fellow guests didnt have them, and had no real problems.
Strengths: The trails, lunch(!), guides, airport transfers
Overall: Great riding, Shaun and Will have great knowledge of the trails in the area and put together excellent and varied routes. The accomodation was good with secure bike storage next door to the local shop and a minutes walk from the bar :-) Airport transfers were really convient. Top holiday!
Strengths: Transfers from airport Accomodation Trail Food Trails Guides
Weaknesses: None
Overall: All-round great package.
Transfers from airport included so very convienient.
Self Catering Accomodation is superb and lots of rides start from the village so great location. Small supermarket 20m away and several cafes and restaurant in the village. Only E1.05 for the bus into Granada so on a day off go and explore and grab some food from the market.
The guides know the trails, know what they're doing and tune the routes to your abilities. They avoid mixing different groups if their abilities differ so you won't have to keep on stopping and waiting.
Uplift in the minibus on some routes to get the best out of a day's riding.
We went out End Sept-Early Oct and the weather was comfortably warm for cycling, bit hot for long climbs at midday but overall nice - mid summer could be a bit warm, especially for us lot who reside in Edinburgh.
Csilla (Chilla) makes up great rolls for eating out on the trails plus there is a cafe halfway up a climb which was always good for a cafe solo and a cheeky breather in the morning.
Thanks to Shaun, Csilla and Will for a great holiday and I hope to get out to Granada to ride with you again.
Overall: Great service from start to finish. Shaun knows a wide variety of trails, from long climbs to fast flowing single track through the forests. Routes were tailored to the riders on the day. And delicious sandwiches as well ! Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting some concentrated biking in the autumn sun.
Overall: Located in the beautiful Sierra Nevadas the whole package (trails, accommodation and village) are fantastic. The trails are a good mixture of climbs and fast or technical descents as well as flowing undulating single track. All rideable on a hardtail, but they would be equally fun on a full sus. The accommodation is very comfortable and well maintained with views over the surrounding village and hills.
Strengths: The available routes will match all fitness and capability levels. Shaun, the guide was fantastic and truly understands the routes and the people riding them. All very welcoming. Great facilities accomodation wise and in the town.
Weaknesses: None that I could find!
Overall: Shaun was exactly what you'd expect from a MTB leader and more, huge days, huge smiles and some very fine sandwiches which keep you going. Would I go back? Hell yeah!
Strengths: No early morning starts :-) Great accommodation, solid guiding and fab trails. Shaun even took us to the fledgling bike park to play on the jumps (sorry Shaun). You will come back fitter, stronger, happier and a better rider. The best riding - up, down and along - that I have ever done...
Weaknesses: No early morning starts?! A friendly bit of advice rather than a weakness; there are some easy trails but to get the best out of what is on offer you do need to be fairly fit and confident on your bike.
Overall: The original plan was to take a guidebook and find the trails ourselves. Glad we didn't. Shaun showed us trails we could never have found. Even the trails that are in the guidebooks are not always on the maps. Highly recommended.
Strengths: Stess Free.... Shaun is laid back. Nothing is a bother. It was our holiday and he suggested what we could ride and left it up to us to decide. Shaun's knowledge of the local beer was also helpfull!!!
Weaknesses: None
Overall: It is weird to say but it was a relaxing active mountainbiking holiday. Awesome single track with breathtaking views. Our last day was great started in the snow at 1650m and ended in the sun at 700m in the village just in time for lunch. Csilla really is a 5 star sandwich maker. We will be back to try some more of these natural trails. Stewart
Strengths: The trails, the scenery and the hospitality.
Weaknesses: You have to come home.
Overall: The accommodation is perfect, the terrain is breathtaking and the riding is even better. You are taken care of from the moment you arrive by a super group of people. Don't wait: book now!
