Strengths: Nuffink flashy, but tough and functional, survived several impacts, and seem very well seeled. The bearings were still smooth after 5 months use, many cheep pedals would grit up after 5 hours.
Weaknesses: Quite heavy. Traction pins are a bit dangerious in a stack (managed to split my shin open on them once, grit against bone, not nice.)
Overall: I used these before I got SPDs and I still return to them ocasionally. Not really much to add to the above, other than that they do what they are suposed to do, are low maintanence and dirt cheap.
Strengths: They perform faultlessly, all through winter, and going strong into the summer. Grippy as u like it.
Weaknesses: The paint colour has chipped off, i started with Black pedals, and now i have silver pedals! Mind ur shins wen u come off, i have scars on my shins entriely due to the lethal design.. but that will happen on most flat pedals.
Overall: These pedals are an excellent bargain buy. I have been surprised at how long they have lasted and wot good performance they have given me. NOt as good as V12, but at 1/4 of the price u cudnt possibly expect any better.
Strengths: Damn cheap, perform as well as much more expensive pedals, last for absolutely ages, loads of grip, replaceable pins.
Weaknesses: Again, can kill your shins, I have scars to prove it! paint finish a little iffy
Overall: Excellent pedals! Why bother paying loads for V12s when u can have these. I bought them when I first got into biking and I've never used anything else since then! My current pair are 2 years old and although they're not as smooth as day 1 they're still spinning away happily. I could easily say that they were probably the best £13 i've ever spent in my life! If you're DH/Jumping/Trialsin' and on a budget, get these. In fact get them even if you aren't on a budget!
Weaknesses: got em in black, bad mistake, they're turning silver! the grease gets washed out eventually in english weather and then the bearings go pea shaped due to dirt getting past the grease. (and you don't need to be stripping these down too often! prise the reflectors out, because they'll only fall out themselves!
Overall: £13 every six months for pedals, the pins never wearout before the bearings knacker up
Strengths: They can cost as little as half the price of A set of V8's. The pins are slightly bigger and so do not fall out as easy as on V8's and if they do they can easily be replaced for a couple of quid.
Weaknesses: Slightly heavier than V8 but this could mean its stronger. I havnt had problems with bearings but have heard bad news.
Overall: So good I bought a pair for MTB and pair for BMX.
