Strengths: Amazing Food and lots of it. Brilliant natural trails, with everything thrown at you, roots, rocks, single track, water crossings....yehaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Weaknesses: Its only for a weekend.
Overall: Going to Normandy was easier than getting to Wales for us, where we normally go, but as a group we fancied something different, so we jumped on a Ferry and after a 3 hour crossing and a 1 hour drive the other side we were there. An hour later we were on the trails and over the weekend we rode solid for 3 days. When we were not riding we eating and when we were not doing either of those we were asleep. Awesome weekend. Really friendly host and guide, and the situation of the house on the river is awesome, especially for post ride beers in the garden slobbed out on a deck chair.......
'Totally fantastic XC trails at rock ‘n’ roll adventures '
Strengths: From 600km of trails we chose mainly roller-coaster XC. The up-hills had the views and the down-hills had your eyes, brain, arms, legs and skill pushed to the limit. I could not believe how many rides there were; it was one rush after another. Then there was sweeping single track through the woods, hard to choose my favourite.
There were easy routes for novices or mixed groups but we stuck to what we liked best, there is not enough time to do all the rides.
On the rides pack lunches were provided including homemade banana flapjack (leg fuel) and fresh sandwiches. On our return we had tea and home made brownies waiting.
Weaknesses: None, had a great holiday.
Overall: Amazing 100% guided and marked routes by an ex-personal trainer.
Accommodation is in a big old stone house situated next to a river with a big garden, perfect for a post ride chill in the sun. The host are great they make you very welcome and cook the tastiest food. There is also the village bar to visit with a ‘beer island’ in the river.
Strengths: Excellent holiday destination, the scenery in swiss normandy is fantastic! This suits experienced riders with rough terrain to beginners with gentle tracks. Great hospitality, quality local food, the hosts will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Bikes, tools, packed lunches and everything you need supplied. Plenty of other activities, including canoeing, rock climbing, local golf courses, paragliding, etc.
Weaknesses: There are none, as everything is provided and the hosts are total cycle enthusiasts.
Overall: More than just a cycling holiday as there is so much to do in the area. The cycling was sometimes hard, sometimes comfy, but always within our limits. The trips were broken up with lunch breaks overlooking gorges and paddling in rivers to cool off. The old stone farmhouse is clean, comfortable and idealic, situated on the banks of a beautiful river. Unfortunately we just missed out on an arranged trip to watch the Tour de France, but we will definitely go back next year for that one!
