'Nice big and clear display - really good computer'
Strengths: Wealth of information available.
Incredibly easy to set up and operate. The display is clear and large.
Weaknesses: Had a problem with it losing data - now fixed. Gave some erronous readings (unless I was doing 900mph +) but it was soaking wet at the time. Expensive (£60) though I have seen it now for £40. Definately worth it for that.
Overall: Cateye support fixed the losing data problem (user error - if you get one, don't press enter on the 'confirm date' screen, press the 2 mode buttons together instead to go backwards)
Really nice computer. Wired version only, but I think I prefer that, as it is a secured connection.
Strengths: Easy to use and set up, clear display,no tools needed
Weaknesses: Data gets confused,I have recorded 857mph max speed and that was up hill
Overall: Now on my third head unit due to strange reading and the fact that data gets corrupted, things seem a little better now that I am not running a radial spoked front wheel.
Strengths: Manual free setup is pretty simple and when Working the ride info is of interest if it keeps it.
Weaknesses: Freezes up without any warning and resetting looses previous information, and eroneous maximum speed reading is annoying - mine reads at 960 MPH
Overall: Hate to be negative but it has obviously been rushed out without proper testing - next time at Edinburgh Bike I'm taking it back - it doesnt do what I bought it for and what it purports to do - keep an accurate record of previous ride info.
Strengths: Easy to read display, interesting analysis of stored ride data in bar chart form.
Weaknesses: None found so far.
Overall: Have found this computer easy to install, set up and use. The mounting appears very secure, data has shown no sign of corruption, in short it does everything I require(and it cost me only £32)
Strengths: Impressive data storage capacity Doddle to configure Loads of nice features
Weaknesses: Unreliable: prone to freezing up, sensitive to pressing enter in the wrong place, tendancy to lose trip data. Curious bug - I have the French language version, but on the graph for the daily statistics, the days are M T W T F S S (in English)
Overall: The specification promises so much, but the reality is disappointing. I'm going to persist until the ens of the year, but of faults keep re-occuring, then I'm afraid it will be consigned to the back of a cupboard and replaced with something a tad more reliable. Despite this, I still haven't lost faith in Cateye, however
Strengths: Good dot matrix display. Good basic functions.
Weaknesses: Buggy. Occasionally forgets to stop automatically, so you get a ride time of 8 hours and an average of 2kph. Hard to remove with one hand. Goofy animated menus. 'Weekly' mileage, which is what I'm interested in, is not weekly, but by weekday, no matter what week it happened in. Confused yet?
Overall: An honest attempt to put a proper (8-bit?) computer and display into a cycle computer, by people who don't ride.
