'Strong and virtually unbreakable rim for downhillers'
Strengths: Incredibly strong. Wide for a good tyre profile. Looks good (ok, not that important).
Weaknesses: Heavy. Wide proflie increases tyre drag.
Overall: An excellent rim for downhillers, tamdems and Clydesdales. Builds into almost indestructable wheels if built carefully. I've only seen one rim damaged in 2 years, (small dent in the sidewall). Not ideal for the weight conscious, but not as hefty as some downhill rims out there.
Strengths: light, design, stay true for the rest of the live, not expensive
Weaknesses: hard to put some tires
Overall: I built a set to my brother and I bought one for me, built on XT disc hub and DT Alpine spokes. Very very very tough rim so far. The way to go if you're in DH or freeride. The best buy in this category
Strengths: strong, look very nice and basically an all round hardcore rim
Weaknesses: only time i ever bent them was wen sum nobber took the wrong line on a dh course and jumped and landed (on his bike) on my back wheel but a couple of quid to get it trued and havent had a problem since.
Overall: i friggin nice rim which i was fortunate enuff to get because i think theyre only a 5er mor than 521's ansd worth every penny.
