Strengths: Quality construction, design, weight, good equipment.
Weaknesses: None so far
Overall: After 10 years of mountain biking with my Merlin, I decided to try road biking as I feel that in terms of phisical preparation, it is much better. I used to road biking with my mtb Merlin with road tires ( 26x1.0 ) but as soon as I tried a real road bike, I fell " in love" with this kind of machine.
The Cube Attempt Comp is a very good bike, although for the price they are marketed in Portugal, I would rather had the opportunity to buy another brand with a carbon fork...but, I think I have made the right decision. Quality construction and attention to detail are top notch, the painting quality is very good and the only bits I would trade off would be the wheels and seat post. Nevertheless, the weight is not excessive - 20,5 lb - but I could easily trimm it to 18.5 lbs.
The Shimano 105 group is a very fine group, with no flaws. Conti tires are superb,( I used the same brand in my Merlin when I road biked with it ) either in the wet or dry, and the bike is realy very fast, with very good manouvreability. We can mantain a very high pace with little effort. The seat stays, instead of being bented to the inside are exactly the opposite and it gives the machine a very good rigidity on the back end. It is surprisingly confortable for an aluminium bike. I am impressed.. All in all a good road bike
