'Ultra Strong, yet Light, CNC 7075 Machined Stem'

Strengths:
* extremely stiff and light
* beautiful CNC machined Thomson quality
* load-dispersing 4-bolt face-plate
* two-bolt, internal partial wrap steerer clamp system
* requires only one 4mm allen key for all adjustment
* 205 grams

Weaknesses:
*Cost maybe?

Overall:
Thomson's testing showed that it took 120 ft-lbs of torque to yield 1 degree of deflection. I.e., hanging a 120 lb weight at one end of your bar would cause the stem to twist just one degree. Also, they report the stem withstands 3000 pounds of lateral force; twice what any of 50 other stems tested could support. Truely a great product.

'the dogs 'nads'

Strengths:
strong,stiff,reasonable weight and very high
quality finish

Weaknesses:
not easy to obtain

Overall:
i have the elite stem & seatpost,which i obtained
from WWW.SPEEDGOAT.COM the stem,cost
$59 & seatpost $84 including P&P, the items
only took 5 working days to arrive on my door
step via airmail...the stiffness/rigidity on the stem is
second to none.Apparently Thomson only produce
stems &seatposts astheir main produce is areospace cmponents
It would be nice to see them making cranks,et al

'Nothing can come close, Ultra stiff'

Strengths:
Awsome steerer clamp set, light weight but strong. 100% USA Made,not a taiwanese cold forged usa packaged like some big player stems.

Weaknesses:
The stem has none, but I have many.
Fast cars, women, fine wine etc etc

Overall:
This is the best value item on my bike, now they're being imported by Reece Cycles in B'ham. SRP £59.95

'LONG LIVE THE NEW KING'

Strengths:
rock solid, no twist. Grips my Monkeylites firmly yet delicatly thanks to the 4 bolt head.vry strong,beautifully built yet very good weight.

Weaknesses:

N/A

Overall:
the stem that I thought I would never find, an absolute belter.I don't think that there better stem out there,it could be sold at twice the price and it would be worth it.

'SMOOTH, QUALITY'

Strengths:
superb manufacture, smooth looks, strong, light, excellent fit and finish

Weaknesses:
finding one can be difficult, I got mine from mud dock-very good customer service

Overall:
The best, I had a Race Face SyStem and changed to Thomson, better quality at a lower price

'QUALITY KIT'

Strengths:
Everything you could ask for in a stem

Weaknesses:
Thomson don't do handlebars!

'FUNCTIONAL SEX!'

Strengths:
Enormously high quality - stiff, light and good looking

Weaknesses:
Less cred than Race Face - this could be a good thing though.

UK availability is poor.

I had to buy a matching seatpost!

And again, they don't make cranks

Overall:
Also bought from Speedgoat. even including shipping it was sheaper that a SYSTem. The CNC quality is great - the fit to the steerer is very precise.

The "engineered" look of the CNC work is very nice, especially in silver.

It is also VERY stiff - you really can feel the difference.

'UNBEATABLE'

Strengths:
Everything. Beautiful construction - CNC'd then anodised. *So* solid yet lightweight. Looks like it will last forever.

Weaknesses:
One of these days I'll probably end up buying the seatpost too...

Strengths:
strong, trick, relatively economic compared to similar products

Weaknesses:
none - although makes me want to get the seatpost

very stiff stem which looks way cool on the bike, no probs, and not everyone has one

'THIS COULD BE THE BEST STEM THERE IS!'

Strengths:
Quality, simplicity, strength, this stem is made out of one piece of metal, no castings & no welding it's all perfectly machined. 6 bolts - all the same size

Weaknesses:
It's a bit hard to get hold of in the UK.

Overall:
I ordered my stem from 'speedgoat.com' & it arrived in 4 days, £65.00 inc P&P, this must be a bargin for such a well made stem, & it also goes well with my Thompson seat post!
