Strengths: Light, Stiff, well ventilated, very low rise to the peddle. Holds the foot firm in all directions of pull.
Weaknesses: Expense. Clear lacquer on the sole plate scratches easily.
Overall: Tried it against the Poggio (same carbon sole), but to me it seemed obvious that the ratchet on the Hautacam made all the difference. There is no give in the sole so my foot had to get used to the shape on the fist couple of big rides, nothing to worry about, and now the feet have capitulated they are absolutely fine. Look around you can get them Cheaper than £150
Strengths: Light but the cheaper Poggios are lighter. Very secure and also high posing factor
Weaknesses: Not cheap and the carbon sole scratches easily, and some snap. Ratchet strap is very close to the ankle and can cause discomfort.
Overall: Very nice shoe if you have the money. The ratchet is a nice feature but looks fragile. If you have the right shaped feet they are brilliant, personally I prefer the Northwave Evolutions
