Strengths: hard wearing good in mud good on damp to wet stones and rocks
Weaknesses: heavy
Overall: i got mine for £10 each very cheap look great used them in dalby forrest on the black root the ground was dry but wet in placess muddy in others just found they gript on everything
Strengths: cheap, last a while, good grip in the mud while it lasts, fairly puncture proof until the tread is worn down...
Weaknesses: heavyish, not that you really notice it, lots of rolling resistance, not that good on the road
Overall: well ive had mine for about a year now and the owner before me had them for about a year, so ive had mys moneys worth i guess, its only recently that ive started to get punctures, thats probably because of the lack of tread. the tread gives you confidence on the mud and dirt but not on the road but thats not what these tyres are for. the tread makes a bit of rolling resistance but who cares? at this price no one can really complain
Strengths: looks good, good mix of light weight and good DH grip and traction, good protection from punctures. good wearing and last ages before they need to be replaced. cheap.
Weaknesses: tyre clearence can be a big problem as on the rear of my specialized FSR and they tend to flick up alot of stones and extremly popular abd nearly ever one has had a pair at some time
Overall: cheap, good looking tyres with extremely good traction in hairy sandy corners.
Strengths: Look good, with a nice big air chamber and the white lettering on the side. Tioga have a good reputation. Good at clearing mud due to the wide knob-spaces.
Weaknesses: They just don't grip, wet or dry, mud or sand! They're bloody heavy.
Overall: These were on sale quite cheap, and I thought "Why not? I'll try them at this price..." I found that they simply don't work very well at all unless you run about 25-30psi in them. At that pressure, I get pinch flats, so I daren't run them below 40psi. And at that pressure, they are truly awful. Most of the people I know get on famously with them, but I don't - I'm giving them away to my mate Gaz who loves 'em... strange bloke...
