Strengths: VERY loud and does its job. (Warning: do not use on pedestrians if they appear susceptible to hear attacks!). Even loud enough to tell cars you're there. Easy to refill, just use a pump!
Weaknesses: Handlebar attachment bracket seems a little shonky, doesn't hold the horn part that well and plastic guides have worn away after just a couple of uses. WAY too expensive. (Mine was over £20!)
Overall: Very useful in the long run but only if you really have £20 or so to blow.
Strengths: Very light (powered by air!), very loud (115 decibel), easy to refill. You'll soon want a high-pressure pump with a gauge though so you can get it exactly to 80 psi! Spares are available if you do manage to break anything.
Weaknesses: Difficult to mount within easy reach of your thumb as the gear/brakes tend to get in the way. Mounting is a tad flimsy but no actual problems yet. Expensive.
Overall: If you commute on a daily basis on roads then you will quickly learn to love your air zound. Use it and watch peds move!
'NO RIDE IN RUSH OUR TRAFFIC IS COMPLETE WITHOUT ONE'
Strengths: Side by side next to car horn, the Air Zound is more 'in yer face'. Easily refillable. Car, truck and bus drivers WILL be able hear this horn!
Weaknesses: Not exactly compact. Everyone wants a go at pressing it (and then it's flat). Uses up the bottle cage (although it did come with a frame mount).
Strengths: Saved my life too many times to count have you ever seen a bloke try to open a sun roof with his head?
Weaknesses: The hose is a bit thin mine wore through where it rubs on the steerer tube but managed to strip it down and fix it and the mount isnt the best but one zip tie holds it tight tad expensive.
Overall: Its amusing watching the car drivers looking for what he/she (how P/C)thinks is a truck, and pedestrians giving you support as they think the driver blew at you. Also funny to use against ramblers i said excuse me to a bunch walking down a country road and one smart ars@ asked me why i didn't have a bell and kept walking in the road waited ten seconds one little BLAST and they all scattered as i flew past commenting how old people are so deaf and wouldn't hear a bell.
Weaknesses: Only get a few BLAST out of a full charge, ( then have to pull up and re-fill. ) not just ater you have used it to get some fool out of your way on the cycle path, ( You might get into a fight)
Overall: I bought a Air Zound 2 ater using a electronic horn which sounded like a sparrow on Acid, car driver could not hear it, people on the cycle path/tracks looked into trees and not at me. So I did a web search for a cycle horn, and out came air zound, I am now on my 2nd horn, as the 1st one sprang a leak. Well what can I say, Very Very lound, people take NOTICE, one word of WARNING You will get abuse from the idiots in your way, The best defence for us cylce types for a long time, More on the road the better, * BE HEARD BE SEEN*
Strengths: IT'S VERY LOUD and bloody good fun on rides such as the London to Brighton Air is free - pump it up with your tyre pump Sits unobtrusively in a bottle cage
Weaknesses: It's sheer full-on loudness may cause road rage in others Fragile - the tubing on mine got perforated, no idea how and there's no way of replacing it, and the bar clamp is weak.
Overall: A first class toy, I may very well buy another!
