Description: The totally redesigned RP23 is THE LIGHTEST AIR SHOCK ON THE MARKET , for starters. the ProPedal is adjustable via the three position adjuster which allows for pre-ride setting of the Pro-Pedal stiffness between soft, medium and hard.
The two position lever then allows the rider to flip seamlessly between Pro-pedal off and Pro-Pedal on at the flick of a switch.
The Rebound adjuster sits right under these pro-Pedal adjusters and offers the usual range of settings.
The DOHC lets you tune in a desired level of pedaling efficiency while riding.
Damping characteristics have been refined throughout the FLOAT range, allowing for Pro-Pedal efficiency while still offering superlative square edge bump performance.
Bushing are precision sized in the shock to decrease break-in time and reduce friction.
And finally, the large canister air chamber offers the perfect spring rate compliment to Fox's refined damping performance and adjustability.
Less weight plus refined ProPedal damping plus exceptional tuning range equals total performance without compromise.
WEIGHT - 195g (NO REDUCERS OR SPRING)

'Great Shock but Flawed Quality Control Spoils it.'
Strengths: Easy to set up, ProPedal works well at the flick of a switch.
Weaknesses: Since fitting it (Sept 2006)has been returned to Mojo twice. First time stuck down, which I believe is not un-common. Second time the main seal is blowing out. It would appear there are some major quality control issues here.
Overall: As a shock it works much better than the RockShox MCR3.3 it replaced. But the failures have spoilt the experience. After trawling the web it would appear I am not alone.
Strengths: Lightweight, adequate adjustments that aren't fiddly (unlike the DHX), ProPedal settings are easy to use and make a marked difference to the ride, a bob free ride, simple to service (air sleeve), doesn't ramp up on big hits (used on a Turner 5Spot) whilst still plush on the small stuff, doesn't loose air over time, 100% reliable.
Weaknesses: None.
Overall: A fit and forget unit (unless you're switching the ProPedal!) that's easy to setup and will give mile after mile of consistent, buttery, bob-free performance.
Strengths: Lightweight, low maintainance, easy to set-up, versatile for all rider weights, plush for an air shock, reactive over the big and small bumps, on and off propedal adjustablilty, air-tight. But the best of all is all that bobbing around is history.
Weaknesses: Depending on the frame mounting it can be difficult to access the air valve.
Overall: I replaced a coil shock on my four bar linkage bike with this as it bobbed on the flat and when climbing. This shock made the bike feel ridged as a hardtail on the flat and climb but opened up without any harsh bump edges when the terrain dictated. You lose a like plushness over the coil shock but its hardly noticable. It has imporved the handling of my bike in everyway, it feels like a new bike.
