Strengths: these are "OE" version 120mm & have over 110mm travel even after just 2outings. Suit the giant full-susser ideally
Weaknesses: A bit noisy (oil in valves on compression) The technical data booklet is a not very clear or concise. Not the most rigid of crowns/uppers
Overall: A good upgrade from the Duke XC's in terms of travel and overall performance for the more agressive riding have adapted to in terms of demanding terrain & drops. The slight increase in weight is hardly noticeable.
Strengths: Smooth, plush travel, very low maintenance, stiff enough for almost any terrain that you'd ride over on a hard tail with a 100mm fork.
Weaknesses: Tech manual is illegible in it's layout and design. Not sure it's a weakness, but it requires so little maintenance that I've only just given it any attention whatsoever, and I've ridden it hard all over the country since the summer. I'm so bad...
Overall: I bought mine here on Bikemagic secondhand for £80.00, and I reckon that new, for double the price, it would still have been excellent value for money. Thanks Tim, it's still going strong. Probably the best 'budget' piece of kit money can buy, and when this one dies or I feel the itchy wallet of upgrade-itis, I will definitely and without hesitation buy another Marzocchi. Oh, and email the guys at importers Windwave or see their website if you need tech help. They must be the only people on earth who can read and understand the manual!
Strengths: Plush Travel They eat up anything you throw at them They are very light Look purty
Weaknesses: They take ages to break in I Cracked the left leg doing a dirt jump, it wasn't even a bad landing!
Overall: Don't use them for jumping and they will you last you for a very long time. Iv had them for 2 years and i only started jumping about 3 weeks ago!! But apart from breaking them they were sweet!
Strengths: Nice 'en plush Good damping Luvly and stiff
Take a while to bed in - this may sound like a disadvantage but forks that take a long time to bed in have longer lasting bushings then those that bed in quick
Weaknesses: Errrrrmm... Maybe i'll think of summit later
Strengths: everything- look good, strong, stiff, plush- amazing forks-and at £136 for mine they're an absolute bargain
Weaknesses: only 1 minor niggle and thats that mine took an age to bed in, however after an oil change and they're buttery smooth
Overall: before these forks i had some 2001 rockshox judys. they broke after a year and a half. my marzocchis are so much better. i used them on my jump bike for abot 10 months, and now i have them on my xc bike. what can i say-they're excellent for any disciplne(except if you jump off cliffs!!!)
