    'CHEAP, EFFECTIVE AND TOUGH!'
    Strengths:
    Price
    Doesn't break or wear excessively fast.
    Weaknesses:
    Could look more expensive....

    'CHEAP, WORKS AS WELL AS ANYTHING ELSE, RUSTS'
    Strengths:
    Basic 7 or 8 speed chain. Runs and shifts well on Shimano gear.
    Weaknesses:
    Rusts if you show it water. One technique to avoid this is never to clean it, and just let the oily clag build up. It's a disposable item after the winter as you can get them for a fiver.
    Overall:
    Cheap but looks bad unless you keep it well oiled.

    'GREAT BUDGET BUY.'
    Strengths:
    Price, performance, looks, durability.
    Weaknesses:
    Difficult to get hold of cheap in your local bike shop. Need to use mail order.
    Overall:
    Used them for years. For a change swapped for something dearer and... no difference.
    Great chain for an everyday normal biker who doesn't give one about 20gms weight penalty.

    'SLICK'
    Strengths:
    Durable and longer lasting than some other mainstream chains.
    Weaknesses:
    Can't think of one right now.
    Overall:

    'goot chain, looks good, '
    Strengths:
    looks very good, smooth shifting, does not seem to stretch like my old KMC Z one did.
    Weaknesses:
    non really
    Overall:
    very good chain and a great price, much better than loads of other cheap chains.
