Strengths: Cheap. Comfortable fit for me. Reflective piping. Footstraps. Have worn well.
Weaknesses: Not waterproof but fine in light showers.
Overall: Warm enough for Spring/Autumn use over padded shorts. Handy for cooler summer days too. I also use mine on really cold and windy winter days (around 0c) as a part of a layer system.
Weaknesses: Fabric snags easily, they are not cut long enough in the back. This coupled with an ineffective drawstring and toggle makes for some breezy backside moments.
Overall: Rather disappointed with these, I tried several sizes on and picked what I felt was the best but extended use proved them to be uncomfortable and cut badly. They may fit a skinnier build but I found them too tight in the wrong places and loose in others. Can't recommend these at all.
'Quality kit used for the bike or footy practice...'
Strengths: Warm, snug, comfortable, relfective piping on the back of the legs and foot straps.
Weaknesses: Get wet easily. Material not good at resisting crashes.
Overall: I like mine, wear them in the colder weather or in the extreme am. Work well at keeping knees warm and toasty. After 2 years of riding the crotch seam burst open, so I got a pair of the DXBs. Good kit if you just want a basic tight and as for VFM just check the ridiculuous prices of the competition.
Strengths: Cheap reflective piping multi season cant be used for multi activitys
Weaknesses: Not warm enoguh for winter use Dont resist rain at all. No padding
Overall: For spring to autumn use these are fine adn can be used as a base layer in deep winter. Lack of padding reduces there use as I dont really like wearing shorts unerneath. I suppose despit ehtere name there more multi purpose then cycle specfic
Strengths: Warm, comfortable, good value, good looking and fairly waterproof.
Weaknesses: None.
Overall: Wore these riding the 180 mile Reivers coast to coast route, including a very cold and wet day in Kielder forest. Stayed warm and comfortable throughout.
Strengths: Quite cheap, good loops under feet to keep 'em to stay down, drawstring waist, reflective piping (& on the Reflects, all of back of leg is reflective).
Weaknesses: No padding, but ok with padded lycra shorts underneath. Need to be cut a bit higher at the back.
Overall: At this price they do just fine, spend more though if you want a pair of longs for regular winter riding or for some extra insulation.
Overall: Had only the one pair of tights for ages....twas these. Kept me warm in winter and they are not too heavy for summer either. Had a few spills and no tears. Finally after about three years of use the crotch seam has split. £12 to replace them isn't going to break the bank though!!! why buy anything else?
