'ALMOST AS GOOD AS OAKLEY'S FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE'
Strengths: Close fitting which wraps round face keeping everything out your eyes, very clear lenses, demist quickly
Weaknesses: Glare can get quite bad when cycling towards direct sunlight
Overall: These glasses prove to be excellent quality for what they cost, for the past 15 years I had been using a pair of Oakley Sub-Zero's which finally snapped in two so I needed a more affordable replacement, initially bought a set of dhb triple lens glasses and the frame of them snapped when I tried to change the lenses, bought these instead and am thoroughly impressed, given that it's heading into winter I have opted for the yellow lens and find that a lot of the time I forget I am even wearing glasses, you get crystal clear vision, the nose bridge really sticks to your nose like glue and the arms grip onto your head so even on bumpy surfaces these glasses stay locked firmly in place. Obviously they are cheap in terms of cycling glasses, but I found them to shed mist as quickly as my Oakleys did, they repel dirt and water, the occasional wipe on the lens to clear muck does mist them up badly but it clears in seconds, my only concern would be that with regular lens changes the chances are the frame will start to wear out. When you look at the fact that these glasses have been on the market for over 15 years I think that really says all that needs to be said!
Strengths: Good eye protection with a range of lenses to suit all riding conditions. Stay on well and are comfortable to wear.
Weaknesses: Are prone to misting as soon as you stop but this can be prevented by coating the lenses with anti-mist before each ride.
Overall: Successfully keeps flies, grit and other trail debris out of my eyes. Comfortable and easy to wear. The only problem that I have had is that on one ride I did remove them and store them without their protective bag which resulted in one of the lenses being badly scratched.
Strengths: 3 lenses, comfy shape (on my face anyway) rubber grips on arms and nose piece keep them on your head.
Weaknesses: Look a bit cheap - because they are.
Overall: If you feel like spending many notes on some stylish athletic eyewear that you will care for lovingly then by all means do so. If however, if you tend to lose, scratch, drop in mud or sit on glasses then these things are ideal. The lenses are easy to change but snap into the frame firmly and the hinges will pop out rather than break if twisted so you can fit the arms back on easily. Forward and peripheral vision are un-obstructed, the lens shape provides enough coverage to stop front wheel mud sneaking underneath and the lens colours are good for most conditions. The only drawback is that they don't have a pearlescent metallic carbon fibre snakeskin iridium finish but then you can't see that when the're on your face anyway.
Strengths: Very comfortable to wear, even all day. The three lenses suit virtualy all light conditions. No dirt has managed to sneak in behing the lenses yet, and they keep the wind out of your eyes very well too!
Weaknesses: I find that if I am very warm and stop cycling they do steam up, but as soon as you start cycling again they clear.
Overall: Excelelnt buy - the glasses are comfy, stylish and do their job well!
Strengths: Light, Tough, Very comfortable even on long rides, mist up easy but that is liveable.
Weaknesses: None, unless you are a fashion Guru.
Overall: I had the Bloc Stealth before these which were a tad more expensive but to be honest I can't tell the difference, the Quality is great, you won't be affraid to hack them round the trails, interchangeable lenses is a superb touch. The carrycase is also a good cleaning cloth and the neck cord is very useful if you want to be sure not to lose them as I did with my Bloc's. They come in a really useful presentation case great for storage. All round value for money, a good pear of hard working functional glasses. & I managed to pick mine up for £22.99 on Settlecycles.com
