Strengths: Easton quality and reliability Great sweep and rise High quality surface finish and graphics
Weaknesses: Unsure about long term reliability
Overall: Easton make great kit, and I was surprised that this handlebar was only £33. Surely it should be around £50?
The rise and reach is great, and it's really well finished. The weight is a reassuring 300 grams, so it should be okay for trails and jump abuse, but I'm not sure how long I should use it before getting a new one (most of the jump bars on the market are cromoly or 500 gms of alloy!). Having said that, Easton has most rigourous testing / safety standards in the MTB market, so I should be okay for 12 months.
Nothing much more to save, but great performance and very low price. I feel much safer on this bar than using a cheapo Club Roost or Azonic bar (which are made in Taiwan factories using standard alloys).
Strengths: well made, durable finish, perfect rise and sweep.
Weaknesses: a tad too wide for me, Easton logo scratches off easily.
Overall: After trimming mine down to 25" it felt perfect. This is my first riser bar and I wish I had got one sooner. It makes me feel more confident, improves my riding position and really does give me more control.
Strengths: Price Great looks Durable Great geometry It's easton so its quality
Weaknesses: Not as strong as more expensive s
Overall: Brilliant for the price, it feels great to ride and looks great. It give good control as the rise and sweep are perfect. You can feel the quality which is reasuring. Buy these!!!
Strengths: Perfect reach and rise for XC/Trail riding. Seem strong enough.
Weaknesses: Nothing.
Overall: Had them for ages and found them perfect after swapping betweeen other risers and flats. They're comfortably wide and high, so don't give the full on tractor DH stlyee. Mine have survived many impacts with trees / rocks / me: I'm impressed.. £30 too!
Strengths: Nice height & width,£33 well spent even just to get the famous "E" on your bike.
Weaknesses: By the time you get then on the bike they are scratched. Be carefull when fitting or you will mark them.
Overall: I can't get passionate about handle bars even if the are "risers" but they are worth the money, even if the wife thinks its a waste of money. What do they know!!.
Strengths: Just the right shape (1.5 inch rise). Fit perfectly into EA50 stem. Look classy.
Weaknesses: Black ones scratch easily when fitting.
Overall: I cut 5 cms off (equally, natch) and they're just right for me. Top replacement for distinctly assymmetric Club Roost jobs. Not been destruction tested yet - I must be improving!
'HAS TRANSFORMED RIDING COMFORT FOR ME; GOOD UPSWEEP AND ANGL'
Strengths: Good wide bar, very strong feeling, and a good upsweep offering an infinite range of hand positions if you adjust rotation in bar clamp enough times!
Weaknesses: A little heavy maybe? Could spend a lot of time adjusting them due to such variability of positions
Overall: I`ve ridden for years on flat bars believing risers to be part of the chopper bike era! (Un)fortunately lower back pain made me reconsider this once my riding position had been checked out. Having fitted riser bars I could ride again and although initially a little strange to get on with once I`d rotated the bars to the correct angle for my wrists and forward lean they were great. I now also find that moderate uphills can be tackled more easily as I can sit up more and have weight on the back wheel rather than starining through my back to a flatter position. I still though have bar ends fitted and this gives great grip for out of saddle climbing; overall my initial septicism has proven unfounded and they`re there to stay
Strengths: They perform brilliantly due to their perfect geometry. I think they also look the biz. I had heard they scratch easily so took care putting them on and had no scratches at all.
Weaknesses: As more pimpy looking bars come out such as carbon fibre ones etc... You just cannot justify buying them because these are so great!
Overall: I have crashed them plenty of times bending various parts of my front end but my bars keep going! (I do love having the logo up front aswell)
Strengths: good looks especialy when you use the ea50 stem, top logos, great value, bullet proof!
Weaknesses: they dont have the scale in the center to show what angle there at when other easton bars do,big deal!
Overall: great bars much better to look at than my mates raceface,i was swapping these bars from my xc to my down hill rig so much i had to buy another set,i wont look at any others now
