'GREAT.......UNTILL YOU WANT DISCS'

Strengths:
light, work well, last ages, adjustable, feel nice

Weaknesses:
need new shifters when you want discs.

Overall:
really good. no problems with them even after a few crashes. Problem now because I want discs. Great shifters/levers but if you want to upgrade to discs later on don't bother with them! I learnt the wrong way!!!!

'FAIRLY WELL PRICED, FEATURES OF XT BUT WELL, FOR LESS!'

Strengths:
Precise dependable shifting, usefully adjustable levers.

Weaknesses:
Umm, the blue bits don't really match like silver or black?....

Overall:
The shifters are great, goes up and down when and where you want them to, and as LX is that bit more than deore you know the few less plasticky bits will last longer. This also contributes to a more solid feel to them than deore, and it says something of them that XT and XTR dont feel a lot better.

The levers are pretty idiot proof, easy to change/adjust cables and a nice shape. They have come a bit rattly but then thats my fault for crashing really.

Overall a good combo, just make sure you want to stick with Vees before you buy!
