Strengths: Plenty of room for a whole day's gear. Waterproof cover, bungees big enough for a helmet, key clip and small pockets for easy accessability of tools, phone, etc. Well padded and plenty of room for a bladder.
Weaknesses: Quite big. I have to have all the straps at their smallest and it's fairly long on my back (I'm 5'7")
Overall: Definitely recommended for all day rides.
Strengths: Well made, lots of pockets, useful rain cover, very secure
Weaknesses: Not comfy! Straps were too close at the top and quite rough, chafing my neck after 1 hour of use. The wind channelling didn't do much. Top of bag was too high up, fouling on my helemt when I wanted to get aero. Plus a plastic clip kept tapping annoyingly on my helmet ALL THE TIME. Don't bother using it for a commute as it is too narrow to put clothing without rolling it up, hardly ideal for office types. Couldn't get a pair of shoes in on top of clothing, should you need to, if like me you have big hooves.
Overall: Fine for off road day rides and carrying shapeless stuff, but no good for anything wider than about 250mm. Returned it after a week.
Strengths: Light and versatile. Narrow. Good elesticated webbing pockets at the sides (beats those hard to access zippered pockets). Hydration pack easy access. Bright waterproof cover that zips away.
Weaknesses: Ummmm.....
Overall: This is one of those purchases that reveals more of itself as you use it ("oohh, that's what that strap's for..."). Haven't had a problem with it yet.
Strengths: Less sweat loads of feautures Fits well (I'm 5 foot 9 max) waterproof cover did I say loads of feautures
Weaknesses: The air flow is slightly less effective with a bladder in place and if you dont dry the bladder pre fitting it will give you a wet back no good for commuting as it screws things up
Overall: You cna MTB on the cheap or do it properly. My Karrimor windproof gillet and this show that. It carrys everything I need for my sherpa antics when I go on a group ride with inexperianced cyclists who dont have the right gear. I woudl recomedn this to anyone except those wanting to commute with it, look at a courier bag for that or those wanting to carry lots of camping gear althoguh I have fitted a chap (£30 argos type tent) in.
Strengths: Good design, well made with lots of useful features. Stable when secured with waist and chest straps.
Weaknesses: Could do with strap-securing clips on the adjustable shoulder straps to prevent them from flapping around. I managed to sort this out with a cople of strategically placed rubber bands but is us a pity this wasn't considered in the design.
Overall: I used one of these on a recent LEJOG trip and was reallyy impressed with luggage capacity, comfort level and useful features (such as the helmet securing section and mesh pockets at side). I didn't use the bladder section so can't comment on how well it works. Highly recommended
