A MORE-THAN-WORTHY ALTERNATIVE TO SHIMANO

The shifters look really good and |I love the way the gear indicator is incorporated into the bar clamp. What the Sram trigger shifters have over the similar Shimano units is that the shifter allows for multiple shifts i.e. you can jump 3 gears when shifting down to tackle a sudden upward slope. The position of the up-shift paddle means that it is more comfortable to use your thumb (although you can still operate it with your index finger). This means you can still be covering the brake as you shift, which is obviously great for control on technical trails. The shifting itself is really slick (I use the shifters with an X9 rear mech and PC99 hollow pin chain)and very precise and solid-feeling.
Weaknesses:
None that I have found. Coped with all the cold and mud I've been able to throw at them so far this winter.
Overall:
If I had known how good Sram's stuff was, I wouldn't have been using Shimano for all these years. Shimano stuff has always been great, but I feel Sram has really upped the ante .These shifters are excellent. Well built, solid, comfortable to use and they work well.
p.s I originally posted this under ESP 9.0 trigger shifter by mistake! Not sure how.

TOP SHIFTING

Light shifting, great indicator, look good, easy to setup, SUPERB ACTION!!
can there be any??
The method of shifting took a little getting used to after having used Shimano for so long but once sorted they work a great deal betting with smoother shifting and a much more natural action. The indicator is ingenious and you can tell a LOT of thought has gone into the design. The best shifting ive experienced even from these low end shifters.

DOGS WHATSITS

Shifting is so much better than Shimano,up and down the range, very quick to get used too.I was very impressed
Not found any yet.
Get your money out,you will not regret it.About time someone came into challenge the big "S",this product will sell well.
The action is so crisp it has given my XT mech a whole new lease of life, try a test ride on a bike fitted with these shifters and Iam sure you will agree,if not,you must be mad.

BEST SHIFTING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED

Solid construction
Great action
Very natural to use
Take a little getting use to
Need to replace rear mech as well (actually not a bad thing!)
I needed to replace my Deore/LX mix on the Inbred earlier in the year, about the same time as these shifters first hit the market, so thought I would give them a shot having heard the rave previews in the press. I have to say that I haven't been dissapointed. They are phenominally nice to use, and only really take a single ride to get used to.

I am planning to replace the Shimano kit on my other bike with X-7 come the end of the winter, which is as good a recomendation as I can give. Give them a go, you won't look back!
