OK, SO THEY'RE NOT BAD

Light, look good
Rims don't seem to be built very well - I've already had one spoke explode out through the rim, and six weeks after having a completely new wheel under warranty, it has nearly happened again. This time, the spoke has bent in its threaded portion inside the nipple and the nipple has deformed. My LBS will need to tell me if the rim hole is deformed also. I'm about 13 stone, but I try to keep my wheels on the ground - no big jumps. Basically, I've had minor hang-ups on roots and bang! Now looking down the barrel of two weeks holiday from work with no riding. Spares take time to come by as shops that stock Mavic seem to need to order the spokes in specially. Freehub starts ticking in a few weeks.
For nearly a year I though these wheels were great, but they are not really up to the job. The rim seems ot be too thinly walled to withstand any kind of impact - even rolling rather than airborne.

AWESOME WHEELSET

very strong, light for the strength, well built, look fantastic and the finish is durable, sweet flat blade spokes, disc and V compatible , machined surface works great with maguras once its bedded in, and doesnt kill the pads too

You even get decent skewers, though not the flash ceramic ones, but they are £60 on there own!
None - well except people think your a flash git with crossmax as you cant tell till your close up.
Really impressed, paid £110 for them and there is nothing else that could touch em for the money. Really fast smooth rolling, great freewheel too and easy servicing.

Not 100% bombproof, finally knocked the rear out of true after 4mth, but bareley noticable, and that is for a 15st average rider on a hardtail chasing 5" full sussers down glentress/coedy , so they still get a 5 for me as my old rims would be tacos after that, infact most rims would.

Generally you get crossmax for 1/4 of the price with 90% perfomance and only 20% heavier, cant go wrong really

BEST INVESTMENT I'VE MADE ON MY BIKE

Very strong and have stayed true for the last six months. Ride smooth as silk and are very well put together. noticeable increase in speed once they're fitted (at least i found that to be the case). Good looking wheels - the yellow and black matches perfectly to my tyellow and black Specialized. Work great with my XTR/XT V-Brakes. Great stopping power.
The fact that i've seen them on the web for £122 a set when i paid £157!!! (got the rear wheel fitted for free though). None apart from that.
I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone who has the money to spend. You won't regret it.
