MTB club Beds Fat Trax will be hosting a ladies' MTB day at its semi-legendary Chicksands riding spot on 12 March. It'll be hosted by UK downhill stars Tracy Moseley and Helen Gaskell, so if you're (a) female and (b) want to boost your riding skills and confidence, this will be the place to be.
Kick-off is 10.30am with introductions and assessment. Then the attendees will be split into two groups for the morning and afternoon sessions, before a final round-up and finish at 4pm. The areas covered will include selecting lines, descending, drop-offs, North Shore and jumps. Don't be put off if you've never done (or indeed actively avoided) most of those things in the past - all abilities and experience levels will be catered for, and you'll probably surprise yourself by the end of the day...
There are 20 places available at £20 per person, which includes lunch. Meet in the Freeride Area car park. More details can be had from www.bedsfattrax.org, where you'll also find a report from the previous Ladies' Day last May.
My mate take alot of pics at chicksands, it had lots of development recently and is a great plce to ride
