If you're a fan of whisky as well as mountain bikes, then Inverness-based mountain bike holiday company Highlands and Islands Adventures have the holiday for you. It's come up with a trip that combines the legendary riding of the Scottish Highlands with the chance to visit the Speyside distilleries and sample their world-renowned whiskies.

The mountains and glens of Speyside provide the pure, clean water required to produce Scotland's most important and revered export. And hidden away among them is a considerable mileage of excellent trails.

Highlands and Islands Adventures have organised the holiday to coincide with the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival (26 April to 3 May 2010), and you'll have the opportunity to tour five different distilleries, sampling their finest malts along the way. You'll spend the morning exploring the delights of the local trails around the Cairngorms, then finish off the day with a dram or two in the afternoon.

The £725 asking price includes seven nights accommodation, all breakfasts and lunches, six half-days of guided riding, five distillery tours and transport from Go-Where. Find out more at www.handiadventures.co.uk or pick up the phone and speak to Euan Wilson on 07796 833142.
